USANA Success Story: Hong Kong fashion business owner delighting in newfound time freedom

Rita Hui’s childhood dream was to operate an international business of her own. Before USANA, Rita owned a sizeable chain of fashion boutiques throughout Hong Kong. However, her life was very busy and stressful, and she realized that it would be incredibly difficult to open new stores outside of her home country. Fortuitously, she was looking for a change when USANA opened its doors in Hong Kong. “I instantly ran to the office and handed in my application,” she recalls. Thus began Rita’s impressive career as a home-based business entrepreneur.

To date, Rita has achieved many significant milestones: She is a member of the Million Dollar Earners club. She became USANA’s first 7-Star Diamond Director in 2003. In 2004, Rita was the recipient of the President’s Award. And in 2006, she achieved the astounding level of 11-Star Diamond Director—setting a new bar for excellence in USANA.

With team members across the globe, in places such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan, Rita is grateful to build her international business with “like-minded friends.” She warmly explains the family-like atmosphere she finds with her team as she jet sets around the world, “Whenever we meet, we will pour our hearts out and joke together. It’s great to work with good friends. I really care about my team members. I think genuine love and caring are the most important aspects of this business.”

Rita aspires to help others achieve their dreams, something that has brought great fulfillment into her own life. “USANA can help people, which makes me want to work even harder, and it is helping me to enjoy my life,” she comments. “In running this business, you can have wealth and freedom at the same time. You can decide what to do and when to do it. For instance, I can go on vacation whenever I want to, spend more time with my friends and family, and take time to pursue my interests like Latin dance and golf.”

An ardent reader, Rita spends much of her free time studying topics such as health, nutrition, history, and philosophy along with reading motivational books that she credits with helping to guide her through different stages of life. A motto she has adopted from one of those books is, “A smooth life without ups and downs is like plain water without taste. It is only when you live life to the full that it becomes flavorful.”

As Rita pursues a life fully lived, she dares to tackle what many consider to be impossible. Such a challenge arose when she decided to aspire for 11-Star Diamond Director. She states, “The word ‘impossible’ represents cowardice for me. Nothing is impossible in my book; your only obstacle is yourself. If you recede every time you face difficulties, you will never succeed.”
