Renowned economist Paul Zane Pilzer identified wellness products and programs as the economy’s next trillion-dollar industry. As a large portion of the world population ages, they are looking for products that make them look and feel better, and younger generations are looking for ways to maintain their health and energy levels to meet the needs of their busy lives. USANA is poised to meet those needs.

8. The Leader in Quality and Innovation

USANA’s quality products are formulated by a world-class scientific team based on cutting-edge, proven science and Dr. Myron Wentz’ expertise in keeping cells healthy through optimal nutrition. Earn More with Four as a Platinum PaceSetter
Become a Premier Platinum PaceSetter when, within your first eight weeks, four or more new Associates you personally sponsor activate 1 or 3 Business Centers and collectively generate 1,600 Sales Volume Points.

If you miss qualifying within your first eight weeks, USANA will give you an additional eight weeks to qualify as an “annual” PaceSetter or Platinum PaceSetter and receive the same benefits as a Premier Associate, but on a yearly basis. Complete the same qualifications every year to renew your PaceSetter and Platinum PaceSetter status.

Significant Advantage for Creating Future Wealth

Once you have established your status as a PaceSetter or Platinum PaceSetter, you can significantly impact your income by helping new Associates duplicate your success. Your investment in every person who joins your downline can provide you with a very lucrative return with USANA’s Matching Bonus.

For every Premier Platinum PaceSetter you create, you could earn a weekly bonus that matches 100 percent of the commissions they generate, in addition to your own commissions, for half a year (26 weeks). The amount you receive depends on your own PaceSetter status. Here’s an overview:

Your status: You receive:
Premier Platinum or Platinum PaceSetter 100% match of your new Premier Platinum PaceSetter’s earnings
Premier PaceSetter or PaceSetter 50% match of your new Premier Platinum PaceSetter’s earnings
Associate 25% match of your new Premier Platinum PaceSetter’s earnings

As you can see, achieving Premier Platinum PaceSetter status is worth the effort, and it’s the quickest way to give yourself an instant raise. Decide to set the pace for your business today!

USANA’s Binary Compensation Plan: The Power of Two

With USANA’s Binary Compensation Plan, you only need to activate your own Business Center and then begin generating sales volume to establish left and right downline legs, or “Business Centers,” in your “tree.” You can sponsor two new Associates to be placed on your left and right downline legs and benefit from their efforts. Any additional Associates sponsored are then placed below the first two Business Centers. The sales volume generated by any downline Business Centers contributes to the total Group Sales Volume (GSV) generated by everyone within the leg, resulting in a fairer dispersion of income for the entire group.

Volume is not limited to levels, so it is equally beneficial to place someone on the 100th level as on the 1st. And because one person’s success benefits the entire group, a sense of teamwork grows among Associates in the organization, unlike in other competitive business structures.

Of course, success does require work. Your commissions will be paid based on the balanced GSV of the right and left legs in your downline. This means that if the volumes on each side of your Business Centers are unequal, you will be paid the commission that corresponds to the GSV of the side with the lesser volume. Balancing legs requires strategic placement of sales volume and new Associates within your organization and an investment of time and energy into the success of both legs to ensure they are reaching their full potential.

The Power of Two2
You can double your earning power by becoming your own left and right legs (activating 3 Business Centers) and then sponsoring four new Associates—two under each leg. Six Ways to Create the Wealth You Want

USANA's unmatched Binary Compensation Plan gives you several ways to earn generous commissions every week in direct proportion to your ability to sell USANA's products to your customers and build an organization of Independent Associates who do the same.

1. Retail Sales
Earn profits on the sale of USANA products when you collect the difference between wholesale and the retail price, which you set. Selling retail is one of the quickest ways to develop immediate income for your business while you start to build a long-term base of satisfied customers. You can sell however works best for you: by using our many sales aids, by sending customers to your personal Web site, or by meeting customers in-person—either one-on-one or in a party setting.

2. Weekly Commissions
Earn up to 20 percent in commissions on the weekly Group Sales Volume (whole increments) accumulated in your organization of Associates and Preferred Customers who, like you, generate volume through product sales. Unlike other compensation plans, any extra volume (up to 5,000 points on each side) is carried forward to the following week. Because USANA products are consumable, you will have a regular stream of income coming in as people re-order. Use the Autoship program to make earning money as easy as possible—USANA does all the work (taking orders, money, shipping, etc.) and you get all the credit.

3. Matching Bonus
Put your business on the fast track to success, first, by becoming a Premier Platinum PaceSetter. Then, help new downline members duplicate your success, and you will be rewarded with a 100 percent Matching Bonus for half a year (26 weeks) on the sales volume of Associates you enroll who become Premier Platinum PaceSetters. This bonus, unique to USANA, is the best way to quickly boost your income!

4. Incentives
Energize your business, build teamwork, and enjoy amazing rewards when you participate in the many fun and challenging contests and leadership incentives USANA offers throughout every year. Past rewards have included luxury travel to exotic destinations, such as Ireland or Hawaii; valuable prizes, including cars; and even thousands of dollars in extra cash! Not to mention the respect and recognition you receive as a top achiever or contest winner at USANA events.

5. Leadership Bonus
Become a top leader who helps others succeed and you will be eligible to receive a share in the profits for your excellent sales performance. Every week, USANA reserves three percent of its commissionable volume and divides it among qualifying Gold Directors and above to support building and training new leaders. As you advance beyond Gold, the number of shares you receive each week increases exponentially, helping you accumulate wealth quicker.

6. Elite Bonus
As an additional incentive to strive for the heights of excellence, USANA offers another attractive bonus exclusively to each quarter’s top 30 income earners. Enrich your income with a share of one percent of USANA’s quarterly profits, which we reserved for the fastest growing elite. The more you earn and grow, the better your reward.

USANA Growth 25: Greetings from Beautiful Cancun

Article written by Kelly Branan

The Barceló Maya Beach Resort

“You’ve got to be kidding me!”

That is what I kept saying to myself when I first looked out over the beautiful grounds of the Barceló Mayan Beach Resort in Cancun, Mexico, location of this year’s USANA Growth 25 Trip, a reward for those who have increased their business the most in the last year.

I don’t even know were to begin to describe the beauty of this place. From the mesmerizing aqua waves rolling over the fine white sandy beaches, to the extensive network of deep blue tiled pools, to the 3 specialty restaurants (French, Argentine and Caribbean), to the luxurious yet comfortable rooms, this place has it all. And since it is an all-inclusive resort, you can have as much of it as you’d like.

Welcome to Cancun!

As each member of the Growth 25 arrived they were greeted by Kevin Guest, Belynda Lee, Shawn McClelland, Michelle Merriwether, Jeremy Lunt, Marilee ChisholmJamie Bahn and Ivy He. Hugs, handshakes, and hellos were exchanged and I could tell that each of them were as impressed as I was at the grandeur of the place. They were then taken to a private lounge where they checked into their rooms to get ready for that night’s festivities.

That evening Amanda Fawson, who could not attend the event due to her expecting a baby any day now, had a festive Mexican fiesta planned for everyone on the beach. Traditional Mexican decorations were made into centerpieces on every table with the backdrop of old haciendas surrounding the scene. A mariachi band played while the Growth 25 took photos out on the beach with the setting sun. After a group photo, everyone made their way to dinner, selecting from the authentic Mexican entrees prepared for them.

Posing on the beach

Just as everyone was finishing up the main course it started to sprinkle. The light rain felt nice in the warmth of the evening but soon the heavens really opened up and the sprinkle turned into a deluge. Everyone was forced to take shelter on the balcony of a nearby suite. Fearing that everyone’s evening had been ruined I was pleasantly surprised to find Michelle singing Beyoncé to the soaked but still lively group. As most of them had finished eating, the group dispersed back to their rooms. But a few with their hearts set on dessert made their way to the resort buffet to finish up.

The Man With The Plan

The next morning began with a brief but informative meeting. Kevin wanted to take some time to go over the direction, plans and goals he has for USANA over the next 5 years. Everyone was able to ask questions and give their opinions as Kevin went through his presentation.

After the presentation, everyone returned to the beach were they were split into teams. Each team was given some plastic pipes, rope and inner tubes and were told to build a boat. Each team also came up with its own cheer. The cheers varied from fight songs to drunken love ballads about being floaters not sinkers.

Constructing the Boats

Soon the whistle was blown and the construction commenced in a furry of activity. Each team was focused on building the most seaworthy craft. Not even the return of the monsoon rains could dissuade them from their task. The sun returned as time expired and the boats were completed. The teams then carried their scrappy ships to the water’s edge where a member of each team was assigned to race into the bay to a designated spot and then returned to the beach. A few boats turned out not to be as rugged as designed and were keelhauled. Other teams were disqualified as they did more walking along the sea bed than paddling, but everyone had a good time.

That night everyone was treated to a Caribbean-themed dinner complete with a steel drum-tapping reggae band. It didn’t take long for a conga line to form on the dance floor, headed by Michelle, of course. The food was delicious, the music was great, and everyone got to sing happy birthday to Jim Robbins to end the night off right.

Adventures Await

Saturday morning began with the attendees separating into three groups. They had their choice to go swimming with dolphins, exploring the Maya ruins of Tulum or riding ATVs and waverunners. Swimming with the dolphins was an amazing experience. These smart marine mammals were trained to let you give them kisses, hold onto their dorsal fins and pull you around in the water. At one point two dolphins would put their noses on the bottom of your feet and propel you around like superman in the water.

Going to the ruins of Tulum was an interesting look back into this ancient culture. Tulum is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city. The ruins are situated on 39-foot tall cliffs, about 30 minutes north of the resort. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans, it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Tulum is one of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites.

Riding ATVs in the jungles of Cancun

Everyone I talked to told me that they had a blast riding the ATVs and waverunners. The ATV tour wound through trails cut into the jungle passing though muddy puddles and sandy dunes. Many of the riders had little experience with ATVs so there were a few minor bumps and bruises, but everyone came away with a smile on their face and a story or two to tell. Riding the waverunners was exciting as they sped through the rolling waves of the Caribbean. The guide led the riders trough the openings in the coral reefs to get to open water were they could really cut loose and have some fun.

That night everyone was treated to a Chinese buffet complete with Asian decor and chop sticks (forks were available for those of us unrefined folk who prefer to eat their food rather than chase it around our plates with sticks). At dinner we celebrated the birthdays of Lisset, the very recent fiancée of Michael Callejas, and Rick, Leanne Grechulk’s boyfriend.

The Denkster poses with Miss Michelle and Miss Doty

After dinner Alexander Denk brought a few strong ladies up to show some tips and poses used in body building competitions. There was also a “tequiler,” who is an expert in tequila. He brought several different samples of his agave-based liquor and many had fun deciding just which one was their favorite. A little bit of dancing spontaneously broke out which, I’m quite sure, had nothing to do with the free tequila samples. :)

Sun and Fun

Sunday was a free day and everyone had some time to relax (or recover from the night before). Many spent the day laying out at the pools, frolicking in the tide, or shopping in the many little shops of the area. Dr. Wentz would certainly approve of the amount of vitamin D that was absorbed.

That night was the gala dinner. Everyone donned their fancy attire and met in the resort lobby not sure what to expect. After a bus ride through a bit of rugged jungle, some tiki torches appeared. A closer look revealed a Mayan warrior standing next to them. One by one several different characters began to emerge from the thick jungle canopy. Everyone had a great time posing with them as they enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

Before long, a conch shell sounded and the characters dissipated back from wherever they had come and we were directed down a dark path. Dramatic uprights lit the jungle vines and trees along the path as the characters reappeared along the path to tell their story.

Associates pose with the Mayan performers

The path then led to a rock-walled hut. Standing in the ornately carved entrance you could see a spread of tables with the name of a guest at each of the place settings. A classical guitarist serenaded us as we found our seats. A delicious five-course meal followed but the real treat was the conversations everyone was having with their new-found friends, reliving the adventures of the past few days.

Mayan warriors perform for the Growth 25.

Just as everyone had finished their meal, one of the Mayan warriors appeared and beckoned that we follow him. We were led past a cenote to a clearing up ahead. Comfortable couches were arranged around a sandy stage where the warrior was burning incense in a clay pot. When everyone was comfortable the show began. The Mayan history was told along with an explanation of their belief of their connectedness to the universe. Dancing, chanting, and even a little fire eating was performed in immaculate costumes to the hypnotic beat of drums.

As the performers finished, everyone was left in awe of the show. It was incredible, but even harder to believe was the idea that this amazing trip was now coming to a close. A few tears were shed as everyone hugged and said their good-byes on the way back to the resort and in the lobby. Contact information was exchanged along with wishes of good luck for the upcoming year. After everything they had experienced here everyone is determined to make it back for the 2012 Growth 25 trip to the Dominican Republic.

And so as they were conducted back to the airport and eventually back home the heart and soul of each member of the Growth 25 has been warmed by the Caribbean sun at the Barceló Beach Resort. They will not soon forget the fun and camaraderie they’ve experienced here. The invitation is now open to everyone. Won’t you join them in 2012?

USANA’s Inside Beauty: 5 Quick Ways to Whiten Teeth

Article written by Jessica Reimer

smile/smīl

Noun: A pleased, kind, or amused facial expression.

Added to this definition should be: “the first thing people notice when meeting you.”

Your smile can attract a mate, cheer up a friend, change your mood, or brighten someone’s day. During the month of October while many of us are consuming way too much Halloween candy, I thought it might be nice to focus on those pearly whites (or in some cases not-so-white).

Read on to discover 5 ways to turn a jack-o-lantern grin into a stunning smile!

Brush (duh!)

Brushing after every meal sounds obvious but many only brush their teeth twice a day. Carry a travel toothbrush with you (and a Natural Whitening Toothpaste sample) so you can brush after that 2 p.m. coffee break. Many foods linger on teeth causing stains. Brushing the teeth immediately following eating or drinking can help reduce the appearance of discoloration.

Use Whitening Toothpaste

The first step in removing those pesky surface stains is to use toothpaste formulated to whiten teeth. Try USANA’s Natural Whitening Toothpaste made with silica to gently remove surface stains without harsh abrasives.

This advanced formula also contains vitamins and antioxidants to help nourish and protect teeth and gums for an attractive, healthy smile.

During the month of October, USANA Associates and Preferred Customers can take advantage of the Toothpaste Sample Pack promotion (Item #398).

For only $9.95 you’ll receive 25 individual samples to hand out to all the little “neighborhood monsters” on Halloween night. They sure will need to brush after all those sweet treats!

Floss

Ever feel like stuff is falling through the cracks? Well guess what — it is! Stains that form from food lodged in between teeth can result in an unsightly smile. Flossing every day helps remove debris from those hard-to-reach places. If you have sensitive gums, try using floss that’s coated so it slides in between the crevices of your teeth easily. These types of coated floss labeled “sensitive” don’t get stuck, lessening the irritation on the gums.

Wear Blue-based Lip Gloss

Colors like “cherry,” “wine,” or “plum” all have blue undertones that counteract the yellow, making your smile appear whiter. These shades are also perfect for fall. Steer clear of matte lipsticks and try something with shine like KORRES Color Gloss in Plum 27 (available at Sephora).

Eat Crunchy, Crispy Fruits and Veggies

Fruits like apples, carrots, and strawberries have natural abrasives that can help lift surface stains. They won’t make teeth white on their own, but think of them as “nature’s toothbrush”. Besides, eating your fruits and veggies won’t only help your teeth appear whiter, they’ll also provide nutrients for overall better health!

Remember, your smile is often the first thing people notice about you. Make a great impression by whitening your teeth with these simple, easy tips. You’ll be smiling brighter in no time!

Well there’s the scoop! Wishing you all beauty and health.

Great Eating Tips for Busy Families: School Lunch Ideas

Article written by Dr. Christine Wood

With the holidays in full swing on top of our already hectic schedules, eating right and living a healthy lifestyle often seem like overwhelming tasks.

Luckily, Dr. Christine Wood, USANA Scientific Advisory Council member, practicing pediatrician, author, and instructor on healthy lifestyles for parents and children, is offering her expert advice here on What’s Up, USANA? to help you brave the winter months with gusto.

She’ll be offering tips throughout the next few months on how you can take control of your family’s health during the busiest time of the year. Check out the first post!

Cut sandwiches into fun shapes with cookie cutters. Avoid meat with nitrates by buying lunch meat from health food stores, which often carry healthier choices. Add sprouts, avocado, lettuce, cucumbers, tomato, cranberry sauce, hummus, pesto, or low-fat cream cheese spread with some herbs.

Other sandwich ideas: Try organic peanut butter, almond butter, soy butter, or cashew butter with mashed bananas or pureed fruit. For shredded chicken or egg salad sandwiches, add canola mayonnaise, grated carrots or zucchini, diced celery or apples, dried cranberries, pine nuts, flaxseed oil, herbs, or parsley to the sandwich mix. Watch the tuna—there is some concern about their mercury levels.

Use tortillas or pita bread and load it up with a combination of beans, rice, cheese, hummus, or grated vegetables.

Make a pasta, rice, or couscous salad with olive oil and a hint of flaxseed oil. Add any combination of grilled vegetables, tomatoes, herbs, parsley, shredded chicken, sprouts, sunflower or sesame seeds, flaxseed, pesto sauce, cheese, diced apples, celery, or grapes.

For snacks at school, try any fruit, dried fruit, or 100 percent fruit leathers (warning: eating lots of dried fruits can promote tooth decay, but it helps if they eat crunchy fresh carrots or an apple after the dried fruit), nuts (warning: nuts can cause choking in children under 3 or 4 years of age, so use with caution), edamame, celery with peanut butter, carrot sticks with ranch dressing or hummus, pretzels (without the trans fats), or whole-grain crackers or bars.

Pack water or 100 percent fruit juice for a drink. Freeze the water or fruit juice so it stays cold and keeps the rest of the lunch cold, too. Avoid sugary juice drinks with high fructose corn syrup.

Plan to use leftovers from a healthy dinner for lunch the next day. Use a thermos to keep soups or chili warm for lunch.

Make healthy muffins with ingredients like wheat germ, oatmeal, grated carrots, grated zucchini, or bran to pack for lunch.

Great Eating Tips for Busy Families: Buying Foods

Article written by Dr. Christine Wood

Dr. Christine Wood, practicing pediatrician, author, instructor on healthy lifestyles for parents and children, and member of USANA’s Scientific Advisory Council, is offering her expert advice here on What’s Up, USANA? to help you brave the winter months with gusto.

She’s offering tips on how you can take control of your family’s health during the busiest time of the year.

Avoid trans fats in foods. These are the unhealthiest types of fats and can be found on labels as “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated” types of oils. Find foods without these fats. If it has less than a half of a gram of trans fats per serving, the nutrition facts label can still claim zero trans fats, so read the ingredient list.

Look for more whole grains in foods. Look for “whole wheat” or “100 percent whole wheat” in bread and other products. Try amaranth, quinoa, or whole wheat pasta. Add millet, quinoa, or couscous to burgers or meat loaf. Eat brown rice rather than white rice. The new My Plate says half of our grains should be whole grains.

Have children go grocery shopping and pick their fruits and vegetables. Ask them to pick a new fruit or vegetable for the family to try.

Add good fats to your diet. Use olive oil or canola oil in cooking. Add flaxseed oil to yogurt, smoothies, cooked pasta, or salad dressing for a good dose of heart-healthy omega-3 fats. Don’t cook with flaxseed oil, but add to already cooked food.

Get to know popular brands that offer healthier food choices, like USANA, Newman’s Own®, Healthy Valley®, or Kashi®.

Look Where We Spotted Rev3 (Part 22)

Article written by Tim Haran

The holidays are just around the corner, beginning with Halloween in a little over a week. Have you carved your pumpkin? Are you prepared with a healthy supply of Rev3 Energy?

Who knows when an unexpected guest will arrive desperately in need of a cleaner, smarter, stronger energy drink. Don’t be unprepared!

For now, please enjoy several photos sent in by our valued Rev3 enthusiasts. Plenty of great pics here to put a smile on your face on this Friday!

Michelle Black posted this photo on our Rev3 Facebook page. It's a shot of Rev3 at Lake Powell with the Rainbow Bridge in the background. Amazing!

Francine Acord-Brown sent this great shot our way. "My horse and I are an amateur sports team and I'm an Associate. We live on a ranch in the Colorado Rockies. Here is one of my foals, Ruby. It takes a very healthy body to live our lifestyle and do what we do. Thankfully USANA is part of my daily life!"

Karla Rickert sent in this pic featuring Robert Rickart. "Rev3 is a chick magnet. The Navajo Beauties at the 100th Annual Shiprock Northern Navajo Fair all wanted their photos taken with him."

And here's a fun one from Karla that she posted on our Facebook page: "Darth Vader always has a Rev3 before he leaves on intergalactic adventures!! No better energy in the Universe."

Pete Zdanis, a USANA 1-Star Diamond Director, is a big fan of Rev3 ... and of NASCAR driver Ryan Newman. Here's Pete enjoying a Rev3 at Dover International Speedway earlier this month. Excellent!

Christina English snapped this pic in September: "My family and work walked the Team Spirit Breast and Ovarian Cancer 10K in support of my mom fighting breast cancer! We also had the opportunity to give away Rev3 cans and Surge packs!" Way to go, Christina!

Sherry Tusa, a USANA Associate from Texas, sent along a few photos of Rev3 enjoying an Alaskan cruise. "Alaska is pristine beauty. The air is so clean & fresh! And so is the taste of Rev3 to me!"
And finally…

Our own Diana Yin, USANA's Manager of Public Relations, took Rev3 with her on a recent trip to Amethyst Lake in the Uinta Mountains. Almost 11,000 feet elevation. Beautiful!

Thanks, everyone! As always, you are helping spread the word about Rev3 Energy and you have the pictures to prove it. Every once in a while I’ll compile these Rev3 Enthusiast-submitted photos (check out past posts) and display them for all to see (well, at least for all of What’s Up, USANA? readers to see).

It’s obvious Rev3 is going places! Please keep the pictures comin’. Who knows? Maybe your photo will be featured in “Look Where We Spotted Rev3 (Part 23)!”

Great Eating Tips for Busy Families: Eating Out

Article written by Dr. Christine Wood

Dr. Christine Wood, practicing pediatrician, author, instructor on healthy lifestyles for parents and children, and member of USANA’s Scientific Advisory Council, is offering her expert advice here on What’s Up, USANA? to help you brave the winter months with gusto.

She’s offering tips on how you can take control of your family’s health during the busiest time of the year.

Avoid or limit eating out at typical fast foods restaurants. Find healthier choices that serve roasted chicken with fresh steamed vegetables, for example. Ask to see the nutrition facts for the foods in the restaurant so you can knowledgeably make a healthier choice.

Share meals between family members to cut down on portion sizes and save money. Add a side of vegetables or a salad. Take home leftovers to use for lunch the next day.

Watch your soda intake. Negotiate with your kids to make water or milk their choice. Many restaurants offer unlimited soda, so if they choose soda, set the limit to one. Sodas should be an occasional treat.

USANA’s Essentials® Earn ConsumerLab.com Certification

Article written by Tim Haran

We at USANA will tell you our multivitamin, The Essentials®, is the best money can buy. Of course we’d say that, right (did you read about the importance of in-house manufacturing)?

But last week ConsmerLab.com, LLC, a respected, independent third-party organization tested and approved USANA’s flagship product, which became the latest of several USANA nutritional supplements to have been given the organization’s stamp of approval.

ConsumerLab.com, which tests health products for strength, purity and disintegration to determine whether the product is what it claims to be, verified that both components of The Essentials, a dual-bottle regimen of Chelated Mineral® and Mega Antioxidant® met or adhered to the following:

  • Ingredient quality and quantity
  • US Pharmacopeia standards for disintegration
  • FDA labeling requirements
  • Did not exceed California Prop 65 levels for lead contamination

USANA's Essentials®
tested and approved by
ConsumerLab.com, LLC
“We are proud to say that this and several other USANA products have consistently passed ConsumerLab.com’s tests with flying colors,” said Dan Macuga, USANA’s vice president of marketing, public relations, and social media. “When you work as hard as we do to source the purest possible ingredients and maintain strict quality control and production standards, it’s important to obtain third-party certification to help demonstrate your commitment to making effective, reliable products.”

Rigorous Testing

Known for keeping health and nutritional companies honest about their product claims, ConsumerLab.com has tested over 3,000 products since 1999. Many products that ConsumerLab.com selects for testing fail. In fact, a recent study showed 1 in 3 vitamins tested by ConsumerLab.com was improperly labeled — typically because the product did not contain the amount of nutrients claimed on the label.

USANA is NSF-certified as following FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as certified by government agencies around the world. USANA’s NSF “Certified for Sport” products are used by both professional and Olympic athletes, and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) recently conducted their own testing of USANA products, which are now the only health supplements approved for WTA player use.

Personal Development is Key to Success

Article written by Dave Wentz

Hello Everyone!

I have been thinking a lot recently about the history of USANA and all that it means to me. USANA has literally changed my life and that is a part of its power — USANA has the ability to change lives all over the world.

In remembering the early days of USANA, I’ve realized how important personal growth is and how much I’ve grown. I’ve made this video to express some of my thoughts on the subject.  You can watch it below:

If They Take Your Products, You Better Do as They Do

Article written by Dan Macuga

That’s the first thing that went through my head after a Team Building exercise that was set up for our management team here at USANA. We have strategic planning meetings every quarter, and one thing that our CEO, Dave Wentz, requires is that there is some element of learning, fun, and team building every time. Well….here’s an idea. Why not partner up with some of the elite athletes that trust their health to USANA?

You got it, head on down to the Utah Olympic Oval and catch up with USANA product enthusiast and good friend, Derek Parra. You remember Derek, he won Gold and & Silver in the Salt Lake Olympics in 2002 and coached the US Speedskating Team during the Vancouver games. He was gracious enough to join us on the ice and show us a thing or two or even a few more….. Watch this video and you’ll see what I mean.

It was an incredible opportunity to see Olympic Speedskaters in action and then have the chance to get out there and try it for ourselves. We had short track skater Jeff Simon and long track skater Patrick Meek join us to try and keep us in line – literally! The bottom line, the US Speedskating Team members have an incredible talent and represent our Country well as they travel and race around the world. It was incredible to see the speed and form as they raced around a space about the size of your garage! Oh, and Derek still has some gas left in the tank, he looked great out there.

So what did we learn, well that’s fairly easy. We learned that it takes years of practice and training to become an Olympic Athlete. We also learned that we see on television or in person may look easy to do, but it is actually very difficult. You have to work hard to achieve your goals, and one thing is for sure in this event, you can’t expect to just jump on the ice and be a world class skater. We all wanted to be one, but as you can see, we all need to keep practicing. The bottom line is that elite athletes work very hard to reach the top of their sport and we all have to have the patience and desire to keep practicing and failing before we will succeed in our desires.

I plan to try this out a few more times, and I know our CEO will (Beat him twice on the track!!) because I will say that it was a great deal of fun to skate around and feel the power and speed on the ice. It also was the perfect place to try it out. I got to skate on an Olympic Oval with an amazing group of people and had so much fun that it’s hard to describe. Life is full of surprises and this was another one to add to the list! Thanks to Derek and the entire staff at the Oval – first class treatment!

Talking Science in Asia Pacific

Article written by John Cuomo

G’day from Down Under.

This is John Cuomo from Sydney, Australia. I’ve been away from home now for just over a week on a whirlwind tour of Japan and Australia-New Zealand, meeting with Associates and our staff.

I started out in Tokyo to introduce the upgrades to USANA’s Essentials, Active Calcium and the HealthPak. Then on to a meeting in Osaka to do the same there. Caught a red eye flight from Osaka to Cairns and then on to Melbourne, Australia, for a very energetic presentation on The Science Behind the Products to a group of young and upcoming Associates — the Barons Republic group in Melbourne.

The next day I flew up to Sydney for a meeting at the Sydney office and a few additional Associate meetings. I gave another presentation at the office Wednesday night and had one more meeting Thursday morning.

Last night I made my way back to Melbourne for one more presentation. And now it’s on to Auckland, New Zealand, for a Super Saturday meeting along with Monica and Gerry Lewis and Dr. Libby Weaver.

What a trip! Over 30 hours of flights and presentations to well over a thousand Associates in Japan and Australia … with more to come.

The excitement about USANA and the quality of our products has been incredible. I’ve met many old friends and made a few more on the trip. It’s been great.

Glad I have my Essentials. Be back in Salt Lake soon.

Thanks to our colleagues in ANZ for the photos. Read more about the trip on USANA, word! and be sure to check out our ANZ colleagues’ Facebook page for more photos.
